This was my first time trying Yemeni food, and I'm happy I did! My are neighbors are Yemeni and their dishes never smelled appetizing to me. I knew that couldn't be a fair representation of the cuisine, so I was determined to try it for myself; and I'm happy to report that I was right! The food was delicious. The rice was perfectly seasoned, and the chicken over rice was hands down the most flavorful I've ever had. I do wish I had gotten more salad and hummus, as both were good. They also included a white sauce that reminded me of mayo, which wasn't my thing, and some pieces of the chicken were a bit tough. But overall, the flavors did not disappoint. The restaurant has a good amount of space but very minimal decor. It's definitely not insta worthy; more of a place to eat and peace out but that's fine because the flavors make for the lack of decor. Service was fine; nothing particularly spectacular or great, but no issues either. The restaurant was packed, likely because of Ramadan, with many people coming in after fasting all day. Given how busy it was, I think they handled everything well. At $18, it wasn't cheap, and I would have loved a bit more salad, hummus, and chicken for the price. But I will be back as a treat.

Best food in town. I've eaten here, gotten takeout, I want it all. When it's me and my partner, we like getting the combo platter for two, so we can have a little bit of everything. On top of four types of meat over a tray of rice, there's hummus/labneh and salad. It's more than enough for two even at our hungriest, with some for left over -- all for just under $50. Oh, and can't forget the giant pita. The best!

We were excited to trek up north in Manhattan in try a well-regarded Yemeni restaurant. Believe it or not, I met a wonderful Yemeni coffee shop owner in El Paso and he recommended I try their unique cuisine! So, the adventure and waiting began! We were happy to have a chance to try Yemeni food in the city that has every cuisine, New York City! I was a little concerned some of the pictures looked like it was a cafeteria. We wanted the best, freshest Yemeni food possible. We were greeted by Mohammed and he asked what we would like to order. I said, could you perhaps help us? We've never eaten Yemeni food and we are excited to try it! Mohammed graciously sat with us at our table and walked through key elements of the menu, ensuring our selections matched our preferences. We wanted flavor and spice! He let us know my selection would take 20 minutes to prepare but I explained, no problem, we were happy to wait! We both got lentil soup for appetizers. It came with sliced lime and was very smooth and tasty. Then came our entrees! Fahsa lamb spicy stew boiling in a stone pot with Toum added to give that extra garlic kick! Fahsa fish which was very nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked, with flavorful rice! Mohammed also brought some amazing hot sauce prepared in house for those that want to kick it up! Also, the bread that came with the meal was fresh, hot, flat, crunchy and huge. It literally covered half the table! Life is good when we get to try a new delicious cuisine with amazing service!

I came here a few months back in search of dinner with some protein. I ordered the shawarma to go and it was quite tasty and authentic. I would definitely try other dishes that they have to offer like the baklava. While there are not a lot of shawarma spots in the area, this may be the best one in the hood if I may say so myself. The service was fairly quick, and the space itself is fairly casual and roomy like you were in someone's at home kitchen.

We had a excellent lunch here after catching a movie at the Magic Johnson 9. I had the Durban with beef, flavorful pasta with meat falling off the bone; much more than I could eat. My wifechad runaway for dessert. We split the dessert and took more than half the zurbian as takeout. Much more menu to explore next time we're visiting our son at the north end of Sugar Hill

SUCH A GREAT MEAL!! Was staying in UWS and needed a quick lunch. This is right off the train stop. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate, and my bf ordered the fahsa based off many reviews. Both were so so good - perfectly seasoned, charred, and great textures. The fahsa is a stewed lamb dish and was perfect for a chilly day. I will never say no to a chicken shawarma and the rice was well cooked. The owner is so friendly and confident in how his food tastes. It's a little out of the way but I would definitely come back anytime I'm in NYC.

So grateful for Yemeni food in Harlem! My first visit here. There's metered street parking available but it gets busy here. Service here is wonderful. I'm use to starting my meal with soup and salad but it's not offered with the meal here. So we started with hummus & bread, which was very good. The have lots of non-alcoholic beverages to choose from, I personally enjoy pomergranite Moussi. We ordered chicken kabob, lamb zorbian and fish. The food was very good, I requested hot sauce which made it even better. The zorbian is a generous portion, the fish was fresh & lightly seasoned. We finished with some very delicious baklava. It was an enjoyable meal. If you haven't had Yemeni food you must give it a try. Happy Yelping.

Amazing Mediterranean food. The chicken shawarma had great flavor and tender chicken and so good dipped in the sauce. It was pre-cut, so picking it up spilled everywhere. The chicken skewers (which came unskewed) was tender, and the garlic sauce was so good - creamy with a subtle garlic flavor. The lamb chops were so tender, I guess it's safe to say this place has mastered how to cook all the meats. The rice was a perfect base, and had a great chew. The salad had no dressing and was dry, but you gotta do what you gotta do to get fiber :)
